Career
All my life, I have never been able to just work from a desk. I have always needed to be active, and to see my the benefits of my work. I've always been fascinated by the anatomy and physiology of the human body, and the medical field offers stable and emotionally fulfilling work. Given my success in and love of mathematics and science and my interest in medicine, I've decided to pursue a medical degree.
Currently, I am not sure which specific field of medicine I will pursue. However, I have always enjoyed working with children and infants. Given the oppurtunity, I would love to work in Pediatrics or Obstetrics.
Since the military has played such an instrumental role in my life, my goal is to apply for a medical school scholarship with the Air Force, and, ultimately, serve as a doctor in the Air Force. I have always been amazed by the dedication and flexibility of service members, and I would consider it an honor to join the ranks as one of America's finest.
As for the writing portion of my prospective career field, my success in college will depend upon the quality of several theses and research projects which I will be required to write, as well as my ability to synthesize text in order generate new ideas and learn how to respond to problems. Doctors also compile their findings into scientific journals; I'm sure at one point or another, I too will have to compose an article on my extraordinary research project. It is critical for doctors to be able to communicate clearly, so that patients are able to understand exactly how to improve their health.
